College Students

College can be a stressful time of life! The pressure of rigorous course loads often overwhelm students causing them to feel anxious. The many life transitions during college can be difficult: managing dorm life and new social situations, learning how to interact with professors and college staff, experiencing decision-making without parental input. All these can trigger anxiety and depression. Counselors work with college students to reduce depressive symptoms and manage anxiety. Often students will learn time management, self-advocacy, decision-making, and social skills in their work with their counselor.
